5 Autumn Rituals for Mental and Physical Balance
During seasonal transition, our bodies are most vulnerable. Practice these five Ayurvedic rituals to encourage mental and physical balance during autumn.
Rise with the sun and meditate first thing in the morning. Even a few minutes of practice can set a positive tone for your day.
Incorporate warming spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cumin and clove to promote a robust digestive system. Have them as tea or spice up your cooking! After brushing your teeth, scrape your tongue with a copper tongue scraper to remove ama (undigested waste) and bacteria that formed overnight. Tongue scraping also stimulates your agni, your digestive fire, via the reflex points on the tongue.
Favor all the warm things: warming foods, cozy clothing, warm sesame oil on your body, and experiences that warm the heart.
